Retail Sale of Cannabis - Cariboo/Chilcotin Local Gov't Responses

This past Monday - the Province of BC announced details around a legal framework for retail sales of cannabis - click here

Before the announcement from the Province - there was a Joint Committee of Provincial/Local Government officials on this subject, which led to this announcement.  You can review their work here

Meanwhile - Williams Lake City Council has been working on attracting a marijuana facility to Williams Lake and has tasked their Staff to come back to Council with options to permit such a facility within the City.

100 Mile House/Wells Municipal Councils' and the Cariboo Regional District Board have yet to have a discussion on this topic while Quesnel City Council has decided to implement a immediate ban on the retailing of medical and recreational cannabis in all zones until provincial policies are considered and a ban on smoking marijuana in all public spaces - click here and Quesnel Mayor Bob Simpson has told CKPG-TV that a Committee/Working Group will be formed to engage the public as to next steps for retail sale of cannabis in the City of Quesnel and how to form the regulations for retail sale of cannabis (setbacks, distances from other buildings, etc).
