The Districts' of Wells/100 Mile House and the City of Quesnel currently do not have their Emergency Operations Centre activated nor do they have an active Evacuation Alert or Order

Tonight from 7-9:30pm at the WL Stampede Grounds - the Cariboo Regional District will be hosting a Town Hall Session on the Wildfires within Central Cariboo.

Following some brief updates from the BC Wildfire Service and officials, there will be information booths where various agencies will share information and answer questions about essential services, public safety, social services and assistance, business recovery, volunteering and donations, mental health and counselling support, etc.

We (CRD) are looking into a live feed for this session. Should this not be feasible, then the session will be taped and uploaded to the Cariboo Regional District's Emergency Operation Centre's Facebook/YouTube pages for your viewing pleasure

If your CRD Electoral Area is partially under an Evacuation Order (Areas D, F, I, J, K and L) - you can call the CRD Emergency Ops Centre (EOC) Public Info Line for questions/clarifications at 1-866-759-4977 or use the online map at https://cariboo.maps.arcgis.com/apps/View/index.html?appid=ee2b98baf5544f028aed537461762081

Here is Williams Lake Mayor Walt Cobb's message to the residents' of Williams Lake yesterday evening:

Here we are Tuesday evening. Nice day with a little more smoke and much more wind. It seems to have activated some fire activity or at least different smoke. Check the CRD site for today's update on fire activity.
Had a scare about an hour ago. Fire over on Westridge. Human caused, nothing to do with the other fires.. this is the kind of carelesness that could burn the town down. Just when things calm a bit some idiot is irresponsible. It was fairly close to a fire hydrant so our crew got it out fairly fast. Please people be sensible and stay out of the bush. It is tinder dry out there.
Helped unload a truck of food at the donation center today. The Sikh community in Surrey sent it up. Thank you all for your help.
There will be a town hall type meeting at the Stampede Grounds tomorrow night. There will be an update from all the services available as well as the fire center. If you are home and need info please come. See you then.

Finally - friendly reminder to continue to rely ONLY on official sources for Evacuation Alerts or Orders from your local government website or Facebook page or through the local media - Tribune (click here) or Vista Radio (click here).
