CRD Hosting Multi-Agency Forum in North Cariboo

Courtesy of the Cariboo Regional District:

The Cariboo Regional District is hosting an informal community forum in the North Cariboo on May 15, 2017. The forum gives North Cariboo residents the opportunity to stop by in a casual setting and meet with their Electoral Area directors and CRD staff, along with other agencies to discuss issues specific to their community.

Representatives will be on hand from various government ministries and services agencies such as Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure, RCMP, Emergency Social Services, Pet Safe Coalition Society, BC Emergency Health Services and more.

Community Forums replace the CRD’s traditional Town Hall Meetings. Going forward, they will take place each year in the South, Central and North Cariboo regions with a rotation through each Electoral Area. The CRD hosted the first Community Forums in the fall of 2015.

“This new public engagement process was well received by our residents in 2015,” states CRD Chair Al Richmond. “At our former Town Hall Meetings we were frequently asked questions that would have been best answered by the agencies who deal with the specific issues. By bringing these agencies together, we have created a one-stop shop for residents who can visit each booth to speak directly with the appropriate agency.”

The forum will take place as follows:

North Cariboo
Monday, May 15, 5:30 - 7 p.m.
Kersley Community Hall,
4829 Edwards Road, Kersley

Community forums will take place in the South and Central Cariboo in the fall of 2017
