Yesterday, before a small group of dedicated supporters, BC Liberal Party hopeful for Cariboo-North (and the incumbent Cariboo-North MLA) Coralee Oakes held her 2017 Campaign Office Grand Opening

She thanked her family and all those who came out for their support.  Of note -- current local elected officials in attendance included Cariboo RD Electoral Area 'D' (Commodore Heights-McLeese Lake) Director Steve Forseth and Quesnel City Councillors Laurey-Anne Roodenburg, Ed Coleman and Ron Paull.  In addition - former Quesnel Mayor /current CRD Area 'A' Alternate Director Mary Sjostrom (2008-2014) and former Cariboo RD Electoral Area 'I' Director Jim Glassford (2008-2014) were also in attendance

The Hon. Rich Coleman (Deputy Premier/Minister responsible for Housing), who was in Quesnel earlier in the day announcing local housing projects, was also in attendance and provided words of strong support for the local MLA for Cariboo-North in her re-election bid

It is expected that other political parties (BC Greens, NDP and Conservative) in Cariboo-North will be holding similar campaign office openings later this month.  While in Cariboo-Chilcotin - the BC Greens launched their campaign office opening back on February 23rd in 100 Mile House with other parties (BC Liberals/BC NDP) expected to launch their campaign offices later this month

The 2017 BC Election gets formally underway on Tuesday, April 11th with General Voting Day on Tuesday, May 9th
