Baker Creek Enhancement Society will benefit from $40,000 thanks to the B.C. government’s Community Gaming Grant program.
The Baker Creek Enhancement Society works to conserve and restore the local environment through promoting public awareness. The organization works in partnership with the Ministry of Environment, Fisheries and Oceans Canada, the City of Quesnel, local stewardship groups, schools, industry and volunteers.
“It’s important that we work together to ensure that our environment is protected and conserved for future generations,” Cariboo North MLA Coralee Oakes said. “Thank you to Baker Creek for your tremendous efforts over several decades in our community.”
This grant is awarded under the Environment category of the Community Gaming Grant program, which allows non-profit organizations to apply for provincial gaming revenues from the Ministry of Community, Sport and Cultural Development. Gaming Grants are also awarded in the categories of Public Safety, Sports and Arts and Culture and Human and Social Services.
