Quesnel Water safe to drink

The following is an update regarding the Mount Polley Mine incident this past weekend. Residents can be assured that the drinking water in Quesnel is safe for consumption and that there is no water ban in place 
for the City of Quesnel. 
Only one of our wells is located in close proximity to the Quesnel River and as a precautionary measure 
only, that well was shut down early yesterday morning. There is no area affected by the shutdown of the well. The City’s water supply comes from deep water wells and is not drawn directly from rivers. 
The incident is within the Cariboo Regional District’s jurisdiction and they are providing up-to-the-minute information as it is received. Residents are encouraged to follow their Facebook page at
