WL RCMP to receive additional $50,000

As I just said on Facebook -- What seems to be missing here is the analysis/action why this few cause the majority of crimes and how that will be addressed. Addressing the root causes of criminals can't be done by the RCMP alone but by a multitude of agencies working together which includes the RCMP, Interior Health, First Nations agencies and other related health-related agencies for the common purposes of these few people living healthy, productive lives!

From the Rush:

Williams Lake City council has approved extra funding for the city's RCMP.

$50,000 will go towards special projects which Williams Lake RCMP Detachment Commander, Inspector Warren Brown says will go towards "strong and deliberate efforts to aggressively investigate" those who are responsible for the majority of crime in Williams Lake.

Inspector Brown says he would like to have 15 to 20 more officers but there doesn't seem to be the money or attitude to do that. He goes on to say that without the extra $50,000 efforts such as this, which require an above normal level of duty, would not be feasible.

Inspector Brown hopes that the city benefits from the decisions and initiatives taken by himself and others with the Williams Lake RCMP.
