Quesnel Snow Removal over its' Budget...

Courtesy of the Rush:

The City of Quesnel was over budget on snow removal in 2012.

Director of Public Works Ken Coombs says they draw from four different budgets for snow removal...a winter shift budget, one for actual snow removal, for driveway clearing and for sanding.

He says the total budget for all of them is about 690 thousand dollars and they spent roughly 802 thousand dollars.

Coombs says they will pay for the increased cost by using surplus money from the street maintenance budget.

Looking ahead to 2013, Coombs says they are in pretty good shape so far as there hasn't been a lot of snow recently.

He says their focus right now is potholes.
