Quesnel Council Business - Nov 5th

For those in Quesnel, your City Council at its' meeting Monday will consider the following noteworthy items:

a) Sushil Thapar goes to 2012 UBCM - it seems Sushil Thapar was able to secure funds to attend the 2012 Union of BC Municipalities AGM after all.  Councillor Thapar does not identify in his report who paid for his trip but because of Quesnel Council not being able to agree to permit him to attend, it certainly wasn't Quesnel taxpayers',  Read his report here.  Like many in Quesnel (I suspect), I will be interested in seeing if he says who paid for his trip and what he got out of the convention

b) Proposal at 1346 Abbott Dr to allow up to 5 boarders for seniors' housing.  Read the Staff report here
c) Quesnel Council pay going up?? Read more here

d) Quesnel Council 3rd Quarter Report.  Read here.  Congrats to Quesnel Council for these quarterly reports.  It certainly shows their due diligence for the City of Quesnel, in comparison to their colleaagues in Williams Lake

Didn't the city manager caution thapar against accepting funds to do this as being illegal under the community charter? Whatever happened with that? In any event, its the mayor's job to manage councillors, so where is the mayor on this? has it all gone under the radar or the rug?
