Coralee Oakes takes leave of absence from Quesnel CoC

From the Rush:

The Quesnel and District Chamber of Commerce has a new Manager, at least for now.

Coralee Oakes is stepping aside now that she has formally been given the green light to represent the Liberals in Cariboo North in the upcoming Provincial Election.

Oakes says the Chamber of Commerce is a non-partisan organization so it is in the best interest that she step aside.

She says Kara Purdue has been brought in as acting Chamber Manager.

Oakes says Purdue has been with the Chamber before and she is confident that she will do an outstanding job.

Oakes says she will still be around until the spring to help out with training and the Business Excellence Awards.

She is taking what is called short term leave and could return should she be unsuccessful in the election.
