LakeKeepers Course – September 29-30th

Thanks to the support of the Ministry of Environment and BC Lakes Stewardship Society, Baker Creek Enhancement Society (BCES) and Bouchie Lake Stewardship Committee for bringing this course to you!

The LakeKeepers course is an information-packed 2-day workshop taught by a qualified instructor. A variety of topics will be covered, including:

• Lake Ecology
• How to tell if there are ecological issues with your lake and some potential actions to take,
• Differences between lakes in the area,
• What makes good habitat for fish, invertebrates, and birds,
• Recreational uses of lakes and their impacts,
• Whatever interests you! The course will be dictated by the questions you ask and what you want to learn about your lake.

This course will provide tools and resources to participants that can be used to: monitor the health of their lakes; provide relevant observations to agencies responsible for the management of your lake; and teach family, visitors, and other community members about your lake.

Locations: Sept 29: Bouchie Lake Hall and Sept 30: 2167 Barker Road (shoreline and on the water).
