With the 'coming into force' of the new Canadian Environmental Assessment Act 2012 or CEAA 2012 - the Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency has announced the following two changes to the timeline for decision making relating to the 'New Prosperity' Mine Project:
1) The Review Panel has 235 days (7.5 months) from July 6th to submit its' report to the Federal Minister of the Environment (Hon. Peter Kent). Deadline to submit is: Feb 20th, 2013
2) A decision by the Federal Cabinet is required 4 months after the submission of a report by the Federal Review Panel or June 20th, 2013
There are also several amendments to the Terms of Reference for the Federal Review Panel (New Prosperity)
