TNG protests at Taseko AGM

Xeni Gwet'in (Nemiah Valley) Band Chief Marilyn Baptiste and their supporters were protesting yesterday at Taseko Mines' AGM - see picture below:

Also the Vancouver Sun covers this story - read here

As one pointed out to me - it is unfortunate that both sides in the 'New Prosperity' debate are locked into 'rigid message boxes' and are unwilling to compromise for the betterment of the people of the Cariboo-Chilcotin, but as I pointed out to another, Taseko designed their own outcome by way of their letter from late last year to the Federal Environment Minister (Hon. Peter Kent) trying to shut out any sort of First Nations influence on the Federal Review Panel process (opening prayer, etc)

Meanwhile - this will make for an interest Federal Review Panel deliberations to follow this summer as they arrive here to review Taseko Mines' 'New Prosperity' proposal with a decision by Ottawa expected this November
