Top Stories in 2012...

As we get underway in 2012... here are some of the things I'll be looking out for 2012

1) Federal Review Panel for the New Prosperity Mine
2) 2012 Budget for City of Williams Lake
3) 2012 Alberta General Election

On #1 - I'll be watching to see if anything has changed since March of 2010 (Federal Review of original Prosperity Mine proposal) or will it ultimately be up to Prime Minister Stephen Harper and his Cabinet to approve/deny the "New Prosperity" mine proposal

On #2 - Williams Lake Mayor Kerry Cook says she learned lessons from the recent civic election, will those learned lessons find their way into the 2012 Budget and 2012-2016 5 Year Financial Plan - time will tell but I encourage everyone to attend the public meetings on this financial documents, when they occur in March

On #3 - Alberta Premier Alison Redford will be going to the polls sometime in the Spring of 2012  between March 1st to May 31st, 2012 after a traditional Speech from the Throne, read by Alberta's Lt-Gov Hon. Colonel (Retired) Donald Ethell.  One question to be answered is:

Will the rise of the Wildrose Party have any effect on the governing Alberta PC (Progressive Conservatives') obtaining a new mandate?
