Remembrance Day Ceremonies - Quesnel, WL and 100 Mile

Remembrance Day in Quesnel

The Quesnel branch of the Royal Canadian Legion is celebrating Remembrance Day this Friday. Festivities will be underway at the Legion office, starting with the parade at 10:30 a.m, and are open to the public. The parade will arrive at the cenotaph at around 10:55 a.m. where the bugler and duty piper will take their post and O Canada will be sung. After the church service, the lounge will be opening for a lunch provided by Save on Foods. At 4 p.m., there will be a dinner for veterans.

Remembrance Day in Williams Lake

The Williams Lake branch of the Royal Canadian Legion invites the public to join them for Remembrance Day ceremonies that begin at the Gibraltar Room at the Cariboo Memorial Complex with the doors opening at 9 am. The ceremony begins at 10 am with the Colour Party and Veterans Assembly. at 10:25 am there will be a short service and then the march to the cenotaph. At 11 the two minutes silence will be followed by the laying of wreaths. The community is then invited to the Legion in Williams Lake for lunch. There will be a variety of entertainers and at 4 pm a Beef Dip dinner provided by save On Foods. Refreshments for younger participants will be available in the lower Legion Hall. Remembrance Day in 100 Mile House

The Royal Canadian Legion Branch #260 in 100 Mile House invites you to join members for Remembrance Day observance that starts at 10:30 am on Friday November 11th in front of the Coach House Square. The parade then travels down Birch Avenue, to the 100 Mile Community Hall. The ceremony at the hall begins at 10:55 am. Hot Dogs and hot chocolate will be served in the hall after the service. The 100 Mile Legion will then be holding an open house for all vets, members of the public over the age of 19. For more information call 395-2511.
