CRD is "Talking Trash" until Halloween

From the Cariboo Regional District:

Residents and businesses in the Cariboo Chilcotin still have time to take in one of the open houses to “talk trash” this month. Join us in Wells this evening at the Community Hall, 6 p.m. or tomorrow evening, Thursday, October 20 at the Baker Creek Community Hall, 7 p.m. If you haven’t had a chance to attend any of the sessions, you can still have your say online. The online survey will remain open until October 31st.

Since the middle of September, CRD staff have been “talking trash” with residents and businesses at open houses throughout the region. So far, more than 156 people have attended to learn more – and have their say – on future programs to improve rural recycling, composting and yard waste, wood waste management, illegal dumping as well as education programs.

Once all feedback has been gathered, it will be presented to the Solid Waste Advisory Committee and then to the Cariboo Regional District Board of Directors for consideration and adoption. The feedback is being used to help guide decisions on what options to include in the Regional District’s Solid Waste Management Plan.

For more information, including the handout, open house display panels and online survey, simply visit www.cariboord.bc.ca, or call 250-392-3351 or 1-800-665-1636 or email talktrash@cariboord.bc.ca

The survey closes Friday, October 31, 2011.
