In the Quesnel Cariboo Observer:

* Quesnel Millionaires ownership group has formally received an offer to move the team to Chilliwack.  See more details here however yesterday afternoon, Quesnel Mayor Mary Sjostrom expressed her sadness that the Millionaires are likely to move however firmly re-doubled her belief that the North-Cariboo Multi-Centre should be built

A Research with the Steelworkers' Union was charged with uttering threats against sitting Vancouver-Mt. Pleasant MLA Jenny Kwan.  See that story here.  I was saddened to read this but hopefully he's learned his lesson that you can have civil/polite disagreement even when your views differ greatly from others without resorting to threats or violence when participating in our democracy - whether local, regional, provincial or federal.  Note - The Steelworkers' Union have directed expressed their "regret" to Ms. Kwan that this incident occured from a Steelworkers' Union staff member and doesn't reflect the views of the Union generally
