Upcoming Public Meetings on Draft Graffiti Bylaw

From the City of Williams Lake:

The City would like to invite residents of Williams Lake to participate in providing input regarding a proposed Graffiti Bylaw. This Bylaw is currently under consideration due to the ever increasing levels of graffiti in our City and no current municipal regulations to manage this growing issue.

The City will be giving a short educational presentation pertaining to the justification for the development of such a Bylaw. This session is being conducted by Staff as we recognize that decisions such as these to create a Graffiti Bylaw will directly impact some residents, and only by receiving input and suggestions can a Bylaw be crafted to reflect what will work for the community in which it represents. The two presentations are scheduled for Thursday, November 4th and 18th, 2010 from 6-8pm in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 450 Mart Street.

Following this presentation, Staff will be answering questions along with recording suggestions and comments so that we may move forward, taking into account the input of those impacted by this Bylaw.

Your attendance is greatly appreciated. If there are any questions or comments, please contact Brad McRae (Senior Bylaw Officer) directly at (250) 392-2311

So no positive feedback for the City doing public consult.? Do you just focus on the bad or just when Councilor Rathor does something you consider right?

Thanks for your comment...

No - no positive feedback for the City on public consultation because they still have no policy on public consultation on regulatory bylaws AFTER Council has given it one, two or three readings. The public consultation meeting in two meetings is on a DRAFT Graffiti Bylaw

Hard to praise a local government that does everything wrong

As for the comment relating to Councillor Rathor - he is the only Councillor doing things correct at Willliams Lake City Hall. As I suspect you are a current supporter of Mayor Cook or Councillors Barr, Bourdon, Hébert, Walters or Zacharias, you will have plenty of time to show your support for them while this blog will continue to point out their and the City's errors' until they are all defeated and replaced with others that know what they are doing

Always nice to see lackeys do the jobs of their masters. Why would anyone want to work with you based on how critical and abusive you are to anyone you disagree with. You never have anything positive to say and always negative, sign of a dying breed of polticians with no social skill....stick to your computer blog and playing warcraft.

I'm sorry to hear that you consider me to be a "lackey" for either Councillor Rathor or others I consider to be a good fit for Williams Lake City Hall. I don't apologize for what I blog on, but I certainly don't discuss with Clr Rathor or others what I blog on BEFORE I do it

As for having something positive to say, I'm calling local politics the way it is, and not with "rose-colored" glasses on

If you don't like what I blog, then by all means, don't read it. But I will continue to blog on all local governments matters, regardless whether or not you like it and if you think that I don't have anything positive to say, but all means - run a campaign in 2011 to prevent me from being on WL City Council next fall

Sorry Steve but i have to agree with the poster above. This is why you will lose, negative narcasism only goes so far before people see that when all is said and done, your nit picking is all you have. That may work in the US as far as campaigning but in Canada, not the same.Good luck.
