Mackenzie Avenue Rehab Project - Weekly Update

• The concrete barrier installed in the north part of Mackenzie Avenue, from Soda Creek Road to Highway 97, will interfere with paving. This is currently being removed and stockpiled so it can be re-installed when paving is complete. Signage is being placed to advise drivers of the missing barrier.

• An investigation is being conducted on a culvert crossing Mackenzie Avenue near James Avenue that is suspected to be very old and possibly failing. A vacuum truck is being used to flush the line, after which a camera will be sent though to record the integrity of the inside pipe walls. This video record will be used to determine if the culvert needs replacing, which will take place before it becomes necessary to cut the new pavement.

• The replacement of water service saddles is underway in the James Avenue area. Brief water service interruptions may be necessary while this happens.
