Last Thursday - Dave Hendrixson, formerly the Mayor of the District of Wells from 1999-2005 passed away from prostate cancer
Mr. Hendrixson became the Mayor of the newly incorporated District of Wells back in 1999 and was re-elected in 2002 before being defeated by Jay Vermette in the 2005 District of Wells Local General Election
During his time on the Cariboo Regional District (CRD) Board of Directors' - he was elected Vice-Chair of the Board
While in office - his biggest legacy, I believe, was the fight to re-open Wells Elementary as a community school, even sacrificing his own personal health in order to see this goal to fruition.
From my own personal perspective - he was a dedicated servant for the people of Wells in the time he served as Mayor and a CRD Director and I have no doubt that he will be missed by all
