Yesterday - Quesnel Mayoral Candidate Bob Simpson posted his 1st campaign commitment called Accountability/Transparency
In the series of 8 statements of Accountability/Transparency - he will, if elected, do things like monthly expenses claims being published for Quesnel Mayor/Council & Staff, publication of IN-Camera minutes as soon as legally/ethically possible, and other accountability measures

In viewing those myself - most I agree with expect:
1) Posting of IN-Camera Minutes -- he may find that campaign promise will be hard to deliver on because NO local government I'm aware of routinely publishes those due to legal and operational reasons
2) Redraft FOI Policy - I believe you would find that the FOI Act of BC trumps any policy a local City Hall would establish if the policy/FOI Act are in conflict but if the Policy goes above/beyond what the FOI Act establishes, then that is a good thing!
However on balance, what Mr. Simpson proposes is a very good thing and ALL City Halls should note what Mr. Simpson proposes and actually put that into practice...
