Mt Polley receives Directives from BC MOE

From the BC Ministry of Enviroment:



On August 4, 2014, a tailings pond breach occurred at Mount Polley Mine in south-central BC, 
near the town of Likely. The breach released approximately 10 million cubic meters of effluent 
into Polley Lake and Quesnel Lake. The Ministry of Environment issued a Pollution Abatement Order on 
August 5th 
to the Mount Polley Mine Corporation and will oversee implementation of the responsible party's 
action plan to ensure the information meets the ministry's needs for assessing potential 
environmental impacts and monitoring ecosystem recovery.
